Re "Obama's Ultimate Agenda" By Charles Krauthammer

Dear Mr. Krauthammer,
Thank you for your article “Obama's Ultimate Agenda.” However, I respectfully point out that it contains a contradiction–which given the clarity of your past fine articles, is quite surprising. On the one hand you dismiss the idea that Mr. Obama is committed to changing this nation into a fascist state; on the other you conclude that his real agenda is a “massive increase in the size, scope and reach of government.”
In terms of the individual right to life and property, there is no difference between the government taking over the auto, banking and insurance industries and government running health care, education and energy production. In the long run, the latter makes possible the former—especially in education. As a case in point, yesterday it was reported that nine individuals “over-use” of free medical treatment resulted in a bill of three million dollars which would be charged to taxpayers. Eight of the nine were drug addicts, most were on welfare, all were educated in public schools.
I hope you will take time to read The Ominous Parallels by Dr. Leonard Peikoff.
