Israel's Moral Right to Exist

Dr. John David Lewis

Does Israel have a moral right to exist, and why? The answer is yes.  That right is not, however, derived from history, religion, or cultural lineage. The essence of that right is rather validated by Israel's commitment to preserve and defend the rights of its citizens to flourish as free people.  This talk will consider the nature of that right, and why it is a grievous injustice to draw moral equivalency between Israel's efforts to live and to prosper, and the efforts of her enemies to undermine and destroy that existence.

This talk was given by Dr. John David Lewis, Visiting Associate Professor of Political Science, Duke University at the TAU Objectivist club at Tel-Aviv, December 2008.

English starts at 02:40.
